What is this site all about?
This website is dedicated to enriching the outdoors community surrounding Fresno CA.
You will notice an abundance of climbing info, since it is what I like to do most. I do
however cover SoYo mountain biking since I'm just getting into it, and hope to make this
page a good resource for everyone who wants to share the beauty of the Sierras. There
are so many sweet spots to visit and no central place for people to get in touch with
each other to get out there. My favorite quote about climbing on the Sierra West Side is
"There's more rock outside of the park than in." There's an abundance of rock, good
access, and lots of other sweet stuff to do within an hour of town. I wish Bass Lake or
Shaver were more like Mammoth. So let's get it going!!!!! Also, you'll notice there is
much mention of West Side Granite and Southern Yosemite. I will focus mostly on
SoYo, but there are other spots covered since many Fresno climbers go up hwy 41 and
hwy 168 for climbing.

Disclaimer!!!!!

This page may or may not be totally 100% accurate all the time, but
it's the first page I've ever done. If you contact me, chances are that I'll
be able to fill you in better. Outdoor sports are risky, and if you don't
arm yourself with the necessary skills, you're going to get
spanked...hard, especially on the West Side where you will rarely
share the crag with another party. To those folks who think that every
dissipated piece of info on climbing in this area is going to cause a
flood of LA city slickers bent on destroying our crags, I say that the
benefit of getting info out and fostering the growth of a local scene,
which is totally dead right now, outweighs the risk. If we have a
cohesive group of Fresno locals, access battles will be won much
easier. The battles are probably coming regardless of what we as
climbers actually do in the meantime, given the current climate of
natural resource extraction and development. It makes me feel good
when I'm a good steward of the crag, and I am the best I can be, but
whether or not I am isn't going to enter the dialogue on Capitol Hill.
We need a scene!!!
So Lets share!!

Everybody, please feel free to send in pictures, Trip Reports, beta,
suggestions, etc. I will most likely put all contributions on with
appropriate credits included of course.
