Southern Yosemite Climbing
What's Southern Yosemite?
Southern Yosemite is the beautifully forested area surrounding the north of Bass Lake and south
of YNP in sunny California. That's right...I'm bragging...I recently went bouldering in short
sleeves...in January!!!! We've got tons of rock, a bunch of trails, and sweet access. To respond
to a commonly asked question...
NO Southern Yosemite is not in Yosemite National Park.
Where is it?
Are there any good places to eat in SoYo?
La Cabana. in North Fork. It's the best mexican joint I've ever been to. Just go to North Fork...it's
obvious where from there.
There's also a killer Sushi place in Oakhurst either Oka across the street from Vons or Kyoto Cafe on the
South side of 41 just up the hill from the Talking Bear. Oakhurst also has a wealth of good breakfast
places if you're in a meat and potatoes kind of mood. The Mountain House on the corner of 41 and the
Bass Lake turnoff (rd. 222) is a good pre-trip eat.

Another sweet Bass Lake pre-climb tradition is making a stop at the
Pines Village Bakery (in the Pines
Village on road 274). The ice cream is great for summer days, and the cinnabuns are great year round
